A Sweet Princess

Consider the Gospel or Good News:

  • When we put our faith and trust in Christ, we are new in Christ and are incrementally transformed into the image of Christ.
  • This is not to say that Pearl was perfect – – I pointed out in the funeral that she didn’t like raisins! And, seriously, we are all sinners (Romans 3:23). But the Bible tells us that Christ paid the penalty for the sins of His people on the Cross. Our confidence does not depend on ourselves, but rather on Jesus.
  • Pearl is now with Christ —  and she awaits the resurrection when the King will return and those who have died in Christ will rise in Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).

Christ is the source of all sweetness and we have a sweet, sweet gospel: the penalty for our sins paid, born again in Jesus, destined to spend eternity on a new earth with other believers in the presence of the King.
