Jesus warned his followers to be very careful about issuing judgment.

Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7:1, Judge not, that ye be not judged,” is one of the most well known of all Jesus’s sayings.  And it should be. Jesus said this in the Sermon on the Mount and he attached a very sober warning:

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:2.

Yet, many have never carefully considered what Jesus was prohibiting. Did Jesus mean it is always wrong to make a critical evaluation? Is all judging wrong?  What are the consequences?

This Sunday, October 25, Pastor Chris Brauns will preach on Matthew 7:1-6 and help us understand Jesus’s warning: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”
